Transport
TAXI
We can arrange everything for you: To make your check-in as smooth as possible, we recommend our Airport Pickup Service. The taxi would take you to the Old Town where you would meet our representative. To learn more about this service and order it use this link: Airport Pickup Service
Alternatively you can travel on you own: Please take an official airport company taxi (MPT, SAWA, MERC) and try to avoid obstructive taxi drivers at the arrivals hall. The recommended companies, although not the cheapest will not cheat you. Basically always get a taxi with a logo or name on top as these taxis are registered to companies that are accountable for their drivers actions. The price from the airport to the Old Town (tariff 1 by day) is around 40 PLN (10 EUR). With unauthorized drivers the price may rise up to 120 PLN (30 EUR).
Bus
There is a bus stand outside right in front of the taxi stand. You should take the 175 bus which goes almost all the way to the Old Town. You can purchase a ticket from the driver (around 3 zl) or inside the airport building (2.4 zl). There is no additional fee for travelling with large bags and pets (from 01.07.2004) - it is good to know as the ticket inspectors used to like this bus to collect fines and not having a ticket for a large bag gave them a good excuse to collect some cash. The last bus stop "Plac Pilsudskiego" is your stop. From there you can either catch another bus (180, 122, 195, 116) and continue for 2 more bus stops until "Kapitulna" stop or take a 10 minute walk to the Old Town.
Transport to the Old Town from the train station
TAXI The same rules are applicable here as above, just make sure you get a company with a logo on top, and agree the price in advance, best price is about 15 PLN, acceptable until 18 PLN (by day, by night). Always check if the driver's meter is switched on.
BUS If you cross the main road (Al. Jerozolimskie) by an underpass and go to the bus stand outside the Marriott hotel you can catch the 175 bus. Purchase a ticket from the driver (around 3 zl) or inside the train station building (2.4 zl). The stop to get off is Plac Pilsudskiego. Read above for more details.
Arriving in Warsaw by car from south/west (from Katowice, Wrocław or Kraków):
Always try to get to Aleje Jerozolimskie (a very long avenue) and drive eastwards. You can get to this street along Al. Krakowska (starts at suburb Janki) and then Grojecka. Driving along Aleje Jerozolimskie you pass the Palace of Culture on your left and at Rondo (roundabout) R. Dmowskiego (there is tall Novotel hotel on your right and the large department store GALERIA CENTRUM on your left). On this roundabout you turn left and go along Marszalkowska Street (passing Galeria Centrum and Empik on yor right). Please note that the main road leading to the Old Town - Krakowskie Przedmiescie St is now closed for renovation. Therefore the easiest way to reach the Old Town is to drive Marszalkowska Street straight on and turn right into the first street after you pass Plac Bankowy - Swietojerska Street. On the first lights turn right into Bonifraterska Street and then left on the first lights into Dluga Street. From Dluga St turn right into Kilinskiego St. and after about 100 meters you are on Podwale Street. You need to find a parking space somewhere in Podwale Street. Remember to buy a parking ticket for your car.
Arriving in Warsaw by car from west (from Łódź or Poznań):
This is easy as you go always straight: take following streets: Wolska, Kasprzaka and finally Aleja Solidarności. You cross Plac Bankowy and shortly afterwards go around by turning left only after you have passed a builiding located on a road island on your left. After you get on back on Al. Solidarnosci going the opposite way, turn right into a first small street. Then turn right into Dluga Street and continue straight ahead. After passing the traffic lights turn right into Kilinskiego St. and after about 100 meters you are on Podwale Street. You need to find a parking space somewhere in Podwale Street. Remember to buy a parking ticket for your car.
Arriving in Warsaw by car from north (from Gdansk, Mazury):
From Gdansk go all the way straight (Wybrzeże Gdańskie street) following the signes for the Center (CENTRUM). After Gdanski Bridge turn right into Boleść Street. You will find a secure parking there. Only a short walk up Brzozowa Street will lead you to the Old Town Market Square and our office.
From East (from Lublin):
Get on the Ostrobramska street and follow the signes for the Center (CENTRUM). Stay with the main road as it changes into Aleja Stanów Zjednoczonych and then Lazienkowski Bridge. Just after the bridge take first exit to the right (GDANSK direction) and follow straight (Solec, Wybrzeze Kosciuszkowskie, Wybrzeze Gdanskie streets). At some point you will see the Old Town panorama on your left, change lanes and turn left on the second lights after the Slasko-Dabrowski Bridge into Sanguszki Street . On the second traffic lights turn left into Bonifraterska Street. Pass two traffic lights and on the third lights turn left into Dluga Street. From Dluga St turn right into Kilinskiego St. and after about 100 meters you are on Podwale Street. You need to find a parking space somewhere in Podwale Street. Remember to buy a parking ticket for your car. ATTENTION: Please note that Krakowskie Przedmieście Street (the main road leading to the Old Town) is closed for renovations. The directions above are meant to help you avoid going in circles or getting lost due to the detours.
